For the love of Autumn 2025

You will notice that I got slack with my blogging and here we are a year later and back in Autumn. A huge amount has been happening at Your Neighbour's Garden and it has been a very busy year. The best thing is that my health has settled down and I am able to work longer days than just my usual mornings.

That in itself is great but the bees have been doing well and I have had a gardener help me over the last year and this has enabled me to create new gardens.

We now have a special place to grow the majority of our cut flowers, so keep an eye out for them coming this spring. Our daughter moved to Australia and we took in her dog, Mouse. Mouse has been a part of our family since she was born. Her mum, one of my eldest son's farm dogs, kicked her out of the kennel when she as born and she was left to be raised by my son until she was sent to Palmerston North to her new home. She has been helping me with all the different animals that we have and absolutely loves keeping an eye on the chicks and ducklings. Yes, we also now have ducks, 4 runner ducks and two pekin ducks. They are such a joy and the quacking always puts a smile on your face.

With so many fruit trees on our property (the last ones went in this week) we are excited to be in the process of getting our kitchen certified to share our homegrown food with you as preserves. We currently have approval to sell a small amount of preserves and will be working on growing our offerings over the next year.

Wow, eggs, vegetables, fruit, honey, preserves, flowers and educational opportunities - I am not sure how I ever had enough time to have a job! Being self-employed is difficult but I am so happy to be doing what I love everyday.
